Automotive Maintenance / Production Supervisor

Kforce's Baltimore automotive client is looking for 2 Automotive Maintenance/Production Supervisors for contract positions in White Marsh, Maryland (MD). One position will be for 9 weeks, the other position will be a long-term, renewable position. These positions will start on 2nd or 3rd shift.Core Hours:
This facility operates on 2 shifts (1st and 2nd shift)
Fabrication: 6:00 AM -2:00 PM, 2:00 PM-10:00 PM, 10:00 PM-6:00 AM
Production/assembly: 6:00 AM-3:00 PM, 3:00 PM-12:00 AM
Essential Functions:
Assist in executing the business plan for the maintenance department
Proactively pursue the vision established for the area and foster an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation
Has supervisory responsibility for a medium to large group of employees involved in plant production and/or maintenance operations
Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of general practices and standards
Maintain awareness of quality standards, communicate department quality goals and leverage resources to solve quality problems
Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union and management
Understand and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between the company and the United Auto Workers Union
Bring leadership skills that help develop teams
Implement/follow systems that prevent recurrence of known issues
Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping
Motivate, train and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods
Influence your peers to accomplish plant goals
Utilize human resources in accordance with corporate policies and procedures and government regulations
Bachelor's degree required; Technical degree preferred
Minimum of 1 years of experience in a management/supervisor/leadership role
High level of interpersonal skills to effectively lead, motivate and facilitate others in group situations; Proficiency in team building and ability to create an environment that allows for measured risk taking
Ability to effectively organize and plan
Well-developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
High level analytical ability to assess and identify appropriate alternative courses of action for definition and resolution of problems that are unique and diverse; Ability to exercise independent judgment is required
The ability to deal with complex problems is desired; Some guidance from the supervisor is available to handle unusual situations
Strong problem-solving skills (utilizing data)
Transmission plant (gear fabrication, case fabrication, valve body, NTC machines)
Transmission for A1000s Chevrolet pick-up trucks (3 quarter ton pick-up trucks)
Machine the parts (Gears, heat treat gears) assemble everything into the case to make the transmissions

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
