Medical Technologist/ Medical Laboratory Technician

Patient First is accepting applications for¬ ¬ Medical Technologist/ Medical Laboratory Technicians in the¬ White Marsh, MD¬ area.¬  Patient First provides a friendly work environment that promotes a team oriented philosophy.


The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to the following:



¬ Following Patient First's laboratory procedures for specimen collection;


¬ Following Patient First's laboratory quality control policies;


¬ Identifying problems that may adversely affect the lab tests and either correcting the problem or notifying the Supervisor;


¬ Understanding and performing all items on the laboratory checklist;


¬ Following Patient First and OSHA's laboratory safety policies.

Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:



¬ Minimum typing experience;


¬ Employee must be 18 years of age or older;


¬ High school graduate or equivalent;


¬ One year of technician training in a formal training program;


¬ A minimum of 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited college, including classes in chemistry, biology, and medical laboratory techniques, or an Associate degree in chemistry, biology or related science. A completion of clinical rotations in the areas of microbiology, urinalysis, chemistry and hematology; or


¬ 50 week military Medical Laboratory Procedures course that meet the qualifications for military enlisted occupational specialty of "Medical Laboratory Specialist";


Registered Medical Technologists (M.T.) or Medical Laboratory Technicians (M.L.T.) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other recognized certification agency of medical laboratory professionals a plus. Registry-eligible technologists are encouraged to apply.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
