Software Engineer II - White Marsh

We are currently searching for a Software Engineer II to join our new Online Development team at our Headquarters in White Marsh, MD.

Responsibilities:
Participates in architectural and database design discussions as they relate to product direction.
Creates design specifications, documentation, and unit testing plans as defined by the Agile development process.
Completes development tasks independently as well as under direction from the product architect and development leads
Designs, builds, and maintains efficient, reusable, and reliable platform
Completes development tasks independently as well as under direction from the product architect and development leads.
Helps maintain code quality, organization, and cleanliness
Collaborates across team and departments to design solutions that efficiently deliver the required enhancements on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, quantitative studies preferred (e.g., computer science, math, economics, statistics, etc.).
Three to five (3-5) years working in a software development role
Experience shipping readable, modular, reusable code to users
Deep understanding of web application architecture and computer science principles
Mastery of at least one programming language (C/Ruby/Python/JavaScript is a plus)
Comprehensive understanding of database design and development, across both SQL and No-SQL technologies
Ability to communicate ideas clearly, and write intelligently
Self-starter who can take an idea from whiteboard to production
Necessary Technology Skills:
Node.JS / JavaScript (Familiarity with Express, Grunt/Gulp, and Java/C)
MongoDB (Experience with Redis is a plus)
Amazon Web Services (DynamoDB, EC2)
GitHub
Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
Experience with consumer lending and underwriting a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
