Summary:
Investigates and resolves software and hardware problems of computer users by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
Interviews user to collect information about problem and leads user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error.
Determines the cause of the problem.
Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to supervisor or technical staff.
Logs and tracks calls and maintains history records and related problem documentation.
Prepares standard statistical reports, such as help desk incident reports.
Calls software and hardware vendors to request service regarding defective products.
Maintains and track hardware inventory and assesses inventory levels.
Processes security forms to enable or disable user access to building and/or system.
Supports audit requests by providing required artifacts for annual audits.
Must have valid drivers license and clean driving history Supervisory

Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, College degree preferred.
Skill:
Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
Job Complexity:
Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment.
Has little or no role in decision-making.
Supervision:
Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.
Works under close supervision.
Experience:
Typically requires a minimum of 0 - 1 year of related experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
